Amidst the hustle and the projects I was lucky enough to work on in the past year, I was finding myself not fulfilling a void of working on anything of my own. I wanted to get excited about something again, and work more with the music community I was living around and working in at a previous job.
I’ve created Anchortapes to sort of scratch that itch. Anchortapes is a very relaxed and private series of sessions and sets that will be shot and recorded with artists generally around the Los Angeles area. It’s aimed to provide a behind-closed-doors look at what a generally stripped down set of some of the artists in the Southern California music community would look and sound like – in edited video form. All the sessions will be posted on the website and will hopefully be accompanied by mp3 versions of every song filmed and recorded.
More importantly, Anchortapes looks to interact and be a part of the music community it lives and breathes around. Being an instrument for hard-working and deserving artists trying to get their name out is not only a large focus for the site, but also where a lot of the passion and motivation for the site comes from.
